Lyngdal Recycling AS - Hausvig Recycling Site
The site is located at the entrance of Rosfjord, between Lindesnes and the
entrance to Farsund Harbour at the South tip of Norway. The 148 acres (600 mål)
landing area is sheltered, but the navigation condition is excellent. No current
or tide in the area.
Normal sailing time from pilot pick up point to the quay is 20 minutes.
The waterfront has a length of 485 m where the depth varies between 10 and 20 MSW.

Subcontractors Permits and ISO Certification
LR is holding a permit from Statens Forurensningstilsyn (SFT) (Norwegian Government
Pollution an Environment Control Department) to perform all parts of the work
included in receiving, cleaning, cutting up and transforming offshore modules and
components into Secondary Raw Material at the subcontractors new built site in Hausvik,
close to the entrance of Farsund Harbour.

LR holds valid certificates by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) for ISO 9001 and ISO14001.

Disposal Subcontractor - Facility Descriptions
  1. Quays and Mooring

  2. Quay 1   Concrete plate quay
    Quay front   50m
    Max length of vessel   250m
    Depth(min)   9,3 msw
    Max load   5 ton/m2

    Quay 2   Pontoon quay
    Quay front   68m
    Max length of vessel   150m
    Depth(min)   18 msw
    Max load   10 ton/m2

    Landing area Dolphins
The landing area is equipped with dolphins with fenders cowering 335 m of the
seafront length. Six mooring points, 150 ton each, is established for mooring
    along the buffers.

    Seafront lengtht   335m
    Max length of vessel   410m
    Depth   14 - 22 msw
    Max load   35 ton/m2

    Temporary mooring
A temporary mooring facility is established outside the recycling area. Possibility
to moor structures of maximum 200 x 250 m size, draft maximum 56 msw.

  3. Cranes

  4. Main crane
A 250 Mt Linkbelt or mobile crane ready to be mobilised.

    Skidding system
A skidding system able to skid maximum of 4000 ton units from offshore barges
to landing area is to be mobilized when required.

    Reference: LR Skidding Procedure

    Small cranes
Two 75 ton cranes can be mobilised to be used as "handy" cranes in the field.

  5. Cutting Systems For Steel
  6. Structure cutting

    Following equipment will be used:
    • One 60 ton caterpillar crawler with 1 600 ton hydraulic cutting scissors.
    • One 23 ton caterpillar crawler with 800 ton hydraulic cutting scissors.
    • Two Ballerey cutting chain units with 78 m long cutting chain.
    • One JETREAM abrasive HP water cutting systems

  7. Concrete Cutting And Recycling Systems

  8. A high number of different hydraulic scissors and cracking machines, hydraulic
operated from caterpillars, is used to cut the concrete loose from the steel,
and to crack the concrete in right size for the concrete recycling machine.

A concrete recycling machine is established in the field, where the concrete
is crush to usable gravel-size. Rope or other extraneous matter is sorted out
by mechanical equipment, and the reinforcement is pulled out of the cracked concrete
by magnetic force (sent to Tinnfoss Jernverk for recycling). The concrete gravel is
after treatment used for further extension of the LR landing area.

  9. Systems For Environmentally Control

  10. Cleaning and chop up area
A 80 x 40 meter concrete plate with oil skimming system for environmental protection.
The concrete plate is constructed to take a load of 35 ton/m2.

    Special area for hydrocarbons
A concrete plate, 45 x 50 meter, connected to a triple oil skimmer system is established
in the area. Parts of modules containing hydrocarbon rests are being cleaned and
    cut up on this plate.

    Oil protection floating curtains
150 m oil retention floating curtains is stored ready to go outside the facility.
A small tugboat (3 ton pull), moored at the site, will be used to pull out the curtain.
An agreement with the Fire Brigade in Farsund and Lyngdal results in possibility to
protect the area in further length of 650 meters.
An oil skimmer, capacity 2500 l/ min, is established to clear any oil spill.

    Marine growth composting system
A 2000 litre marine growth composting enclosed tank with sufficient heating and
ventilation systems is established to compost any marine growth removed from the structures.

    Noise reduction equipment
Different noise reduction curtains are available to shelter noisy operations.
Noise measurement equipment is available at the site.

In order to identifying environmental aspects such as light, noise & dust pollution
and selection of such which are significant for the company have we developed an own
procedure which are linked up to the concessions for the site. The procedure providing
information such as precautions that needs to be taken to reduce the impact for our neighbours.

    Treatment of Wastewater
Lyngdal Recycling AS has Product barge with 8 compartments, each 10 M3, for storage
of wastewater. A contract with Septikservice AS as subcontractor for treatment of
wastewater at the Hausvik Site is in place.

    Treatment of Asbestosis
LR has a well-trained and certified group of operators that has participated in
asbestosis removal and deposit for a lot of projects.
Two offshore rated asbestosis removal equipment containers are to be mobilize at site.

Treatment and storage of LRA/ scale
Lyngdal Recycling AS's personnel are trained in measurement of LRA and in treatment of
such material together with special subcontractor.
Lyngdal Recycling AS holds a reciprocal agreement with a certified company for collection,
storage and deposit of LRA/ scale.

    Major environment accidents
In the case of major environment accidents holds Lyngdal an emergency preparedness
agreement with Septikservice for mob/demob of extra personnel and equipment, this is to
be found as an extra precaution in addition to our own in-house emergency preparedness plan.

    Landing barge
A barge can be used for landing of modules and equipment. LR has the option for the use
of a normal offshore barge 27 x 91 m at the site. The deck is rated for 25 ton/ m2.
Allowed point loads 200 Mt on intersections of longitudinal bulkheads and transverse frames.
The barge will be moored along the coastline at the site, or at any other site the Company
or Contractor prefers, and can be moved to any position needed to simplify the landing
    of the equipment.

LR has a wide range of sea fastening gear for sea fastening of equipment, modules or material.

Facilities
LR have offices and accommodation facilities at site, mess facilities are available
at site but on self serve basis. Hotel and cabin accommodations are available within
15 minutes drive.
Security control and access to the disposal SITE is natural fenced in by water front
and mountains, there are only on access road to the site and has a gate. Security is
in place during normal operating hours. If extended or 24 hours security services are
needed will a private security company provide such service.

Storage area
LR is currently building a 800 square meter storage area for the purpose of safe and
secure storage of equipment for sale and reuse.
LR is also developing a home page with a searchable database of all equipment for sale
and reuse is to be found.
